Memorial Day - Remember

Memorial
day, has been traditionally observed on May 30, as it is believed that
flowers
would be in bloom all over the country.
It is still often called Decoration Day.
This is a day to honor those who have
died in all American wars. Let us bow our heads
in a moment of silent prayer for our
country, for all who serve now, or have served, and their
families.
Let us pray for, remember, and honor,
those who have died serving our nation, and
the families of those who have paid the
ultimate sacrifice, or were taken captive and never
returned.
Lest we forget, our American freedoms
are not free. Let us extend the sheltering
warmth of our hearts, and provide warm
embrace to those who have given the ultimate
sacrifice upon the altar of freedom, so
that we may live free.

Alone
and far removed from earthly care
The
noble ruins of men lie buried here.
You
were strong men, good men.
Endowed
with youth and much the will to live
I
hear no protest from the mute lips of the dead.
They
rest: there is no more to give.
So
long my comrades,
Sleep
ye where you fell upon the field.
But
tread softly please
March
o'er my heart with ease
March
on and on,
But
to God alone we kneel.
