If you require initial training, you may wish to consider the Basic Safety and Marksmanship course (right column), before taking the CCW course. Such will allow you to gain more out of the full course.

If you have little or no handgun shooting experience, this 2 hour course should be taken before the CCW class allowing you to become more comfortable in the safe use of your firearm.  This will be personal instruction with no more than 2 students per class. Cost: $60.00.  After this class, you will attend the above initial permit CCW Course. A mutually convenient date and time will be set for this basic instruction.

Note: Penal Code Section 12050(a)(1)(E)(i) provides, in part, that the Licensing Authority shall not require a course exceeding 16 hours for the initial permit. Students taking the above course are agreeing to voluntarily take the additional training and education (approximately 4 additional hours).  Students to date have advised they wanted to obtain the additional education and training. Further, my course includes instruction on drawing from a strong side holster and re-holstering. Range practice includes extensive drawing as part of the actual firing exercises.
