| BELOW ARE ACTUAL CASE HISTORIES
WHERE HAMS USED COMMON SENSE TO SAVE LIFE.

1. During a major wildfire
the fire department's radio repeaters were destroyed by
fire. Ham Radio Operators programmed Ham Radios and
provided them to firefighters (non hams) who then used the Ham
Repeaters for communications to fight the fire.

During a major wildfire (a different state than above), a large
number of persons needed to be housed. Phones were not
working. Fire still burning and people evacuating,
inability to call 911. etc... . Ham Radio operators programmed
Ham Radios and provided them to selected non hams who then used
ham radio to communicate as to moving people into hotels,
finding house, food, etc..., and emergency communications.

Accident (great bodily injury). Cell phones not working.
Non Ham used a Ham repeater to request 911 relay. A Ham
responded and communicated with the non Ham and made the
requested 911 call. |
